Personal training at Studio Fit 515 is different than what people typically associate with the gym. 

Focused on Function: Our goal is to create a personal training program that is fun, motivating, empowering, and will help you obtain your goals faster than you would without our help. We focus on full-body functional exercises into our workouts to maximize muscle recruitment, including your brain! Functional exercises focus on training movement patterns rather than isolating individual muscles. If you spend most of your working day sitting down in the office, sitting on the chest fly machine at the gym isn’t the most productive way to spend your time. Functional training can also help to correct bad posture and muscular imbalances caused by sitting for extended periods of time, repetitive motions, stressful jobs and hectic lifestyles.

Every session includes flexibility, mobility, core stability, balance and strength training principles to create a strong, healthy and vibrant body. We do not do crunches or steady state cardio (boring!). By training through different movement patterns and using our own body weight, we can train like athletes instead of doing repetitive bicep curls or running in place for hours. Our training sessions change weekly to keep our clients challenged, stimulated and interested. Every exercise involves core activation, teaching the core to stabilize the spine (have back pain? A strong core can help!)

Team training or small group training is NOT a “boot camp.” We do not have drill sergeants. We have certified personal trainers that are here to help you reach your goals. Our clients work in circuits and our personal trainer (you can call him/her “Coach”) will correct your form, be your clock, and help motivate you. These circuit workouts focus on endurance while incorporating weight training. This combination results in faster fat loss and increased muscle gains. A benefit of training in a team environment is that you are with like-minded individuals, who can help you be motivated to stay on track!

Semi Private Sessions: Semi Private sessions are are not typically circuit based, but more technical because the emphasis is on strength training. The trial includes one semi private session a week to keep you on track. These training sessions must be scheduled ahead of time and are reserved for up to 4 people. Sometimes it is a one-on-one session; it just depends on the time.

Program Design: This is a personalized workout written just for you by the Fitness Director. From stretches and body weight exercises, to using free weights and gym machines, the Director will walk you through each workout, and then you’ll be free to master the workout on your own.

Fitness & Nutrition Consultation: You kick off your trial by meeting with our Director of Fitness. In this meeting you’ll go over goals, any injuries or obstacles you face with your health and wellbeing, discuss your diet, and perform a Functional Mobility Assessment. Nothing scary, it is simply an evaluation using a series of movements to measure your range of motion, core strength, and flexibility in your joints.
